Network & Servers

We operate on state of the art hardware in the UK's premier data centre. Our hardware features Intel Core Duo 2 processors running Linux operating system with nightly backups and software updates. Plugged directly to the backbone of the internet, via a fully redundant Tier 1 connection so we experience slow-down or service interruptions.

Programming Expertise

For bespoke solutions our development environment relies heavily on our framework of reusable components, APIs and open-source technologies. For server-side programming we utilise PHP, with MySQL fulfilling our database requirements. Our software produces validated HTML/XHTML and CSS from our customised templating engine.

We focus on accessibility, usability, and HCI. We make good use of the latest in AJAX technology to build a rich user-interface when appropriate. For JavaScript development we utilise the elegant jQuery library.

Web Platform Experience

For Rapid Application Development (RAD) we switch to building on the Drupal platform. This offers a robust and well developed framework for developing web applications. Where bespoke functionality is required this can be developed as bolt-on modules in PHP.

For the professional and business blogging solutions we utilise the state-of-the-art semantic publishing platform Wordpress. This provides a simple to use administration interface for managing website content, but gives us the power on the backend to integrate high quality designs using the templating system.
